South Community Primary Care Inc.
Pharmacy / Lab
We are fortunate at South Community to have Genoa located across the lobby from the Medical Services Department, to help out with this process. After receiving a prescription for the medication, clients will be directed over to Genoa to begin the process. It may take 6-8 weeks to get the medication, which is why it is important to start the process as quickly as possible.
Clients with medical coverage gets prescriptions as usual and have an opportunity to fill those scripts, as well as other scripts from other providers, right here at Genoa.
Clients who do not have prescription coverage are provided with samples (when available). We receive these samples from various pharmaceutical companies. As samples are a limited commodity, it is critical for primary providers and physicians to assist their clients in obtaining medication via Patient Assistance Programs.
In addition to the pharmacy services provided by our doctors, our nurses play a vital role in the day to day operations. Nurses assist clients with questions about their medications, help facilitate refills, and most importantly promote and encourage recovery.
We support the Recovery Model in the belief that clients can recover where they reach a state of functioning and may no longer be dependent on community mental health. We will help clients make this transition back into the community with the understanding, that should problems arise, they are welcome to come back to South Community for care.
