Foster Care
If you would like more information on how to become a
Foster Parent, please call (937) 252-0100.
The Foster Care Program serves children and adolescents with severe behavioral or
emotional problems requiring therapeutic interventions beyond what is available within the
primary home. For youth who are at risk of a more restrictive placement, the network
provides placement in foster family homes. These placements generally range from six to
nine months for intensive care; however, short-term respite care is available for families
and youth who are experiencing crises or extreme stress. Placement in the program
can be voluntary, in which the primary parents maintain custody of the child. The
Foster Care Program also offers long-term placement options for children with emotional /
behavioral problems in the custody of children's services, and family foster homes to meet
their needs.
