Learning Independence and Family Empowerment Program (LIFE)


LIFE is a community-based program operated by South Community designed to address the behavioral health needs of female juvenile offenders ages 10 - 17 in the context of their families and communities. Referred youth may also have a history of multi-system involvement or substance abuse. 

SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE:

  • Functional Family Therapy (home-based)
  • Advocacy for Family Needs
  • School Intervention (as needed)
  • Linkage to Supplemental Community Resources
  • Access to a Natural Helper
  • Psychiatric Services (as needed)
  • Intensive Probation Services (provide by Montgomery County Juvenile Court)

Providers include Master's Level Therapists, Board Certified Psychiatrist, and Intensive Probation Officer (employed by Montgomery County Juvenile Court).

LIFE is a partnership between the Montgomery County ADAMHS Board, South Community, Montgomery County Juvenile Court (including Reclaiming Futures) and Samaritan Crisis Care.    Female youth entering the court system or on probation are referred by Juvenile Court and assessed by Crisis Care.
