Kettering Alternative Classrooms

Individual, group and family counseling is provided to students placed in the alternative classrooms.  These services may also include mental health education, consultation, crisis intervention, referral services and participation in school affiliated meetings,  Psychiatric services are also available to students in these programs.

 

Kettering Special Education Youth Counseling

  • All Kettering City Schools

Individual and family counseling is provided to Kettering students, grades kindergarten through 12, who have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).  The counselor attends IEP meetings, when possible.

 

Kettering Youth Counseling

  • All Kettering City Schools

This year round program is funded by the City of Kettering and Kettering City Schools. Counseling is provided for students and families within the Kettering School District. Counseling can take place either at the school or at the South Community Stroop Road location in Kettering.  Counselors provide school consultations, crisis intervention and mental health education.   Parents and students can access workshops on a variety of mental health topics at the Kettering Recreation Center in the summer.

 

Kettering School Community Liaison Program

  • All Kettering City Schools

South Community Inc. provides assistance with linkage for needed services to families within the Kettering School District.  Families must reside within the Kettering School District. Parent(s) are required to complete the Prevention, Retention and Contingency (PRC) applications and be approved for these funds before services can be provided.

 

Kettering Youth Counseling Support Services

This service provides group counseling on-site to students at Barnes Alternative School.  Other services may include crisis intervention, consultations, life skills training and linkage to appropriate community resources.

 

Anger Management

  • Kettering Middle School
  • Van Buren Middle School

An eight week workshop on anger management is offered to any Kettering student attending Kettering Middle School or Van Buren Middle School with the goal of assisting students in managing/expressing anger in positive/appropriate ways, as well as providing support.

 

GRADS Program

  • Fairmont High School

Counseling services are provided to pregnant or parenting students (male and   female) at Fairmont High School in the Graduation Reality and Dual-Role Skills (GRADS) program.  Additional support services may include linkage to appropriate community resources and educational services.
