Job: Employment Specialist

This is a full-time position under the direct supervision of the Adult Community Psychiatric Support Treatment Program Manager. Provide assistance to clients to obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals.
Assist client in development of an employment plan and updates this profile on a quarterly basis. The Employment Specialist provides assistance with the job search regardless of Client’s preference regarding disclosure; is responsible for a minimum of 12 job starts each year after the first year of employment. Negotiates any necessary job accommodations, provides outreach services and will be required to spend 65% or more of total scheduled work hours in the community.

Education and experience equivalent to Associates Degree, in mental health, social services and/or business. Experience working with people with serious mental illnesses, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred. Ability to work as an effective team member is essential. This position requires access to an operational vehicle, valid driver’s license and auto insurance that meets SCI standards.
