Position Description:

The Child Advocate is responsible for servicing youth ages 5-14 that have an emotional, social-emotional, behavioral or mental disorder for at least one year.  The Child Advocate is responsible to direct clinical intervention to the youth and the family members, as well as developing, organizing and facilitating Tiered Development Teams utilizing the Milwaukee Wraparound Model and Trauma Informed Care Model to meet the multiple needs of the children and families served. 

The Child Advocate fulfills three unique roles:

  • Providing direct mental health and drug and alcohol interventions
  • Coordinating services such as access to assessments and treatment
  • Services through a Tiered Development Teams (TDT) approach.
  • Coordinating services across the multitude of systems with which the individual and family is involved.
Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent time management skills, communication skills, ability to work independently in the community, the ability to work with diverse populations and the ability to work in a larger a team.  Bachelors Degree in Social Work or related field is required.  Ohio licensure to provide mental health and alcohol and drug services required, LSW Preferred.  Valid Ohio driver’s license required.  Must be able to pass a background check, motor vehicle check and drug screen.
